Northwest Iowa Planning & Development Commission Announces Micro-Grants

The Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund (NWIRHTF) has a limited number of micro- grants up to $5,000 available to eligible homeowners affected by the 2024 floods. Applicants must meet the income requirements and reside in a county that has been approved under the Presidential Disaster Declaration. These counties include Buena Vista, Clay, Emmet, Lyon, O’Brien, and Sioux Counties in Iowa.
Eligible homeowners must live and own the home they are requesting funds for or plan to return to the home if they have been displaced by flooding. Applicants must have used funds provided by their insurance company and FEMA prior to requesting assistance from NWIRHTF or can show proof of acceptance or denial from these entities is required.
Assistance may be used for the following, but not limited to roof repair, windows, siding, electrical upgrades/repairs, plumbing repairs, septic tank repair, HVAC replacement/repair, and handicap accessibility.
